As Indians had to confine themselves to their homes, many have turned to online games leading to a spike in app downloads and usage. India surfaced as the largest contributor in terms of the number of downloads for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) — one of the most famous and highest revenue-generating gaming apps across the globe.
The Tencent-owned online multiplayer battle royale game had garnered 34.2 million downloads in May of which India accounted for 35.8% or 12.24 million installs, followed by Brazil with 7.2% contribution, according to Sensor Tower data, a platform that provides market intelligence and analytics for mobile apps.
